Justin Fields’ First Home Start

The threat of thunderstorms (which held off until after the game) couldn’t cloud a glorious Chicago day at Soldier Field. The sun even showed up for a while. Justin Fields got sacked 9 times in Cleveland last week. He got up. And he led the Bears to victory over Detroit.

Fans were elated to see a Bears quarterback throw accurate deep balls to Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson II.

Bears fans aren’t used to that. We are used to defense. Khalil Mack scooped up a fumble and almost pulled off a sweet lateral to Eddie Jackson. Jackson got tackled and the refs called it a forward pass. I didn’t care, it was fun to watch. Fun and Bears football. Not always in the same sentence. Too bad we can’t play the Lions every week.

David Montgomery continued dominating the run game until a knee injury left him limping. He’ll miss 4-5 weeks. Not good for the Bears as they head to Vegas. Monty has been our best offense all season.

Fields is showing signs. He made some incredible plays and he made mistakes. But the future is bright.

Look how happy I was on the rickshaw that cost $75 for a 4-block ride:
